Commentary and Criticism about the National Education Association
We have absolutely no affiliation with the National Education Association and do not represent its views in any way, shape or form.
“We are deeply disheartened by President Obama’s announcement to delay executive action on immigration.
NEA President Lily Eskelsen Garcia “criticizing” Obama, 2014 “… the world watches in shock while crying babies are maliciously separated from their parents … Congress needs to stand for our American values and reject this hateful, misguided, and inhumane agenda.” NEA President Lily Eskelsen Garcia criticizing Trump, 2018 Pure, unadulterated, blatant bias and hypocrisy. That is the only way to describe the statements of NEA President Lily Eskelsen Garcia. Of course, if you are trapped within the NEA’s liberal echo chamber, you might not quite understand what I am referring to here. So let me break it down for you. FIRST THE BIAS Compare Garcia’s reaction to the immigration policy of Obama vs. Trump:
Her choice of words constitutes a clear bias. NOW FOR THE HYPOCRISY But perhaps you are inclined to protest: “Trump is actually separating families and ripping babies from parents … Obama never did that …so her choice of language is completely appropriate ...” Really? Know your history … “Many liberals contend Obama never ripped babies from the arms of screaming parents. They should ask, for example, the over 150,000 immigrant children separated from their parents due to detention and deportation proceedings in 2012 if that’s true.” The liberal Huffington Post even wrote about this back in 2013: President Obama, Stop Separating and Deporting Our Families So first we had the bias, and now you see the hypocrisy. GARCIA SILENT UNDER OBAMA Where was Garcia in 2014 when National Council of La Raza President Janet Murguia, called Obama “Deporter in Chief?” How about when the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda complained in 2016 to Obama because of his “inhumane deportation raids?” Of course, I ask these questions rhetorically. I don’t expect a hypocrite like Garcia to provide honest answers.
